Detroit Bass-Weirdo Freddy Todd Gets Eclectic on the First All Good Radio Mix

GRiZ's move-making label is kicking off their new mix series with 60 minutes of in-your-face whomp-funk.

GRiZ's label,

All Good Records

, has a sound that's hard to pin down. There's the electro-soul of newcomers like

The Geek x VRV

, the

sax-infused funk

of GRiZ's own solo production work, and the wonkiness of bass-slinging iconoclasts like

Space Jesus

.

Detroit-based newcomer Freddy Todd is also part of the label's stable, and he's been tapped for the first entry in the label's mix show, All Good Radio.

Including a short interview where we learn about Freddy Todd's direct bloodline to one of America's founding fathers, the debut mix pounds your brainwaves hard with quick-transitions between trippy bass tones, soulful breakdowns, plus unreleased edits from a couple All Good Artists (try to catch that GRiZ VIP edit of your favorite hip-hop weed anthem). There's even a version of the Playstation startup theme, just because. This is eventually followed by the one-two punch of Todd Terje and Gucci Mane tracks, again, just because.

"In the past, none of the artists on our roster have ever really released any mixes and we figured this would be a great opportunity to show another side to the label," says Jordan Kleiman, label manager at All Good Records. "In the near future, we will be able to have our own radio show broadcasted out of Detroit and on FM radio. Our music and fanbase stems so much from the internet that it would be awesome to reach the major demographic of Detroiters commuting in their vehicles (but do you best not to speed!)"

Check out the mix exclusively below, and keep your ears open for the next edition of the series, including some more awesome artists from the label and extended fam.
