Berlin-based artist Dauwd announced his debut album today that's coming this summer. The full-length, titled Theory of Colours, arrives June 2 on Ninja Tune's Technicolour imprint.

The album was recorded over the course of a year in Utrecht, Netherlands-based studio Sonar Traffic, which houses large collections of vintage synths and other modular equipment. According to a press release, Dauwd was inspired by music heavyweights including minimalist movement leader Terry Riley and electronic music forefather Raymond Scott, as well as the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop, one of electronic music's most historic studios.

Accompanying the announcement is the first single off Theory of Colours, the hazy and ethereal "Leitmotiv." Listen to it below. Ahead of the album's release, Dawud will embark on a brief U.S. tour beginning May 5 in Los Angeles, followed by stops in San Francisco on May 6 and New York on May 13.
