Like a low-tempo Voltron, two of America's best producers recently joined forces and the results are nothing short of amazing. Nite School Klik is veteran producer and turntablist and upstart producer G Jones. The duo's debut mixtape is 45 minutes of twisted, hip-hop-infused beats that will be causing bass music producers the world over to raise their games immediately. Check it out:The Nite School Klik collaboration first surfaced about a month ago via Shadow's own Liquid Amber label, with two tracks (both in this mix) available for free download on SoundCloud. The pair met after DJ Shadow dropped a G Jones track during a set while Jones just happened to be in the crowd. They hit it off backstage and decided to retreat to the studio together and the rest looks like history in the making.While 42-year-old Shadow is a household name in DJ circles, at 23, G Jones is in a new generation of west coast beat makers. After dropping a couple of brilliant albums on Germany's Saturate Records and collaborating with the likes of Bassnectar, Mad Zach and Doshy, Jones brings the bass music production skills to the forefront with Shadow.This mix is all over the place, jumping around gleefully from track to track.
