Hamburg Club, Golden Pudel, suffered extreme damage over the weekend when a fire broke out during business hours on Saturday night. There were 150 people inside the club at the time, and all of them were able to escape the venue uninjured.

Electronic music magazine Groove has reportedthat local police believe the fire was intentional, but have not released the specifics of their suspicions. The building's roof is in danger of collapsing as a result of the catastrophe, and it has also suffered water damage due to the fire extinguishing efforts.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the Pudel would go up for auction in April as a result of a legal dispute between the building's two owners, Rocko Schamoni and Wolf Richter. The club then followed up with a post their website claiming that they would soon "show [their] teeth" with aggressive plans to keep the venue and its anti-establishment attitude alive.

Over the years the Golden Pudel has established itself as one of Hamburg's most beloved venues, and was set to host the likes of Detroit electro artist DJ Stingray, London producer Joy Orbison, Cologne's Barnt, and more in the coming weeks.
