Figgy's "The Truth" is Dystopian Poolside Music

Moody bikini babes worldwide rejoice.

While a majority of Figgy's releases are straight up on that good-times tip, his new track "The Truth" has got a liberal sprinkling of moodiness amidst the shuffled hi-hats and spacey synths. Yeah, it'll fit in nicely at your next poolside hang, but don't blame us if things get a little dark and the bikini babes start throwing shade.

Turns out Figgy feels the same way. He explained the track to us: "It's about having to admit something that you don't want to, so it should feel slightly uncomfortable. It's tense but there's also a sense of relief that you got something off your chest."

The release follows up tracks on Kastle's hip-as-fuhh Symbols label and Houston's own Freshmore. "I'd like to think this release is an extension of what I've done in the past," Figgy tells THUMP. "…Working with vocal samples and repeating them in a way that gives them different meaning is a big part of my sound. The symbols EP was definitely more garage influenced, while this as well as my upcoming material has more house/disco vibes. "

Okay okay let's get to the real question here. How come the affinity for figs? Figgy explains, "The edible fig was one of the first plants cultivated by humans so it's had some time to get it's radness level way up. True fact, just looked that shit up on wikipedia."
