Marcel Dettmann’s DJ-Kicks Mix is Now Streaming in Full

If a plane ticket to Berlin for a night at famed club Berghain is too much for your wallet, then listening to a mix from one of its resident DJs is the next best thing.

German selector Marcel Dettmann, whose affiliation with the club dates back to its 1999 opening, is the latest to step up for !K7's long-running DJ-Kicks mix series, and his 74-minute sojourn is available to stream over on Bandcamp.

However, those seeking cavernous techno from start to finish won't find it in this session. In a press release, Dettmann described his DJ-Kicks contribution as a "lost and found" story in which he drew from "25 years of collecting records, digging deep, revisiting, [and] researching," resulting in a reflective mix that showcases the trajectory of his personal music history while still maintaining dancefloor energy.

He's provided new material for the occasion, including unreleased original remixes and productions, his Levon Vincent collaboration "Can You See," his Wincent Kunth team-up "Possible Step," and a Rolando remix of his track "Let's Do It." Cuts from Orlando Voorn, Sterac, Mystic Bill, and Dan Curtin also feature.
