Gramatik's Lowtemp Label Has a New Star by the Name of Luxas

Stream the Slovenian producer's debut LP 'The Bridge.'

Stream 'The Bridge' in its entirety.

While Gramatik's Lowtemp label is known more for funky soul-filled bass music, its latest product is another Slovenian producer with a wide-ranging palate – Luxas. Entitled The Bridge, his freshly minted eleven track release is quite the deviation from the festival-friendly beats that have emerged thus far from the imprint and appears more as an experimental, cinematic soundscape that flows through measures of electronica, downtempo, trip-hop and even some dashes of drum and bass styles. "Luxas and I have been friends since we were 14, I always wanted him to make an album because his technical and musical skills are badass—he can produce anything he wants!" Gramatik tells THUMP.

The LP is a far-reaching listening experience that takes us through serene valleys, powerful peaks of noise, and countless other experimental deviations through sound. "It's a very beautiful, cinematic album, I think fans of Massive Attack, Portishead, and UNCLE will find it very pleasing," says Gramatik. The label-owner also told us that Luxas and himself will be scoring all of the music for his upcoming short film, under their Cinematik project.

The Bridge, which was created using only analog synthesizers, is quite the impressive debut from Luxas. If his technical skill on the LP is any indication, we can expect more treasures to emerge from the mind of this Slovenian newcomer.

The Bridge is available today for free download. Click here to grab the beats.
