Influential Canadian producer Deadmau5 has teamed up with Vodka company Absolut to present a virtual reality game called Absolut deadmau5, and it will be released tomorrow. The game's objective is to get the artist, real name Joel Zimmerman, from his home studio to a DJ gig, surmounting a series of obstacles such as selfie-seeking fans and hallway obstructions in the process. If you make it to the end, the reward is a 360-degree Deadmau5 concert featuring an exclusive new track called "Saved."

Zimmerman said in an interview with the New York Times that he's got plans to pursue an even bigger virtual reality project. "It was a good way to get our feet wet," he said. "This is opening the door to serious stuff."

In order to play, you have to order a limited edition $10 VR headset, produced by affordability-focused VR company Knoxlabs and designed by Zimmerman himself.

In March, Deamau5 and Kanye West got into a heated exchange on Twitter, where there was conversation about the possibility of the producer DJing North West's birthday party. He also recently took Electric Daisy Carnival to task for what he perceived as its "banality."
