An employee of the London club Studio 338 has died from burns injuries following a fire there on Monday. Personal information about the man has not been released by the authorities, but the club has identified him as a 28-year-old named Tomas, reports the BBC.

When the emergency response team arrived at the fire in Greenwich, south-east London around noon on Monday, he was the only individual injured by the blaze, which also impacted a recycling yard, some industrial units, and a pub in the vicinity. He was treated at the scene, and then flown to a nearby major trauma hospital by London's Air Ambulance.

Yesterday, the club posted to Facebook describing Tomas as "very badly injured" and "the most beautiful soul you could ever meet," entreating people to send him their "thoughts, prayers and good vibes."

Two hours later, they released a statement to Facebook commemorating his death. "Tomas fought for as long as he could given the extent of his injuries," they said. "He was as strong as an ox but it was too much even for him. He was so pure and beautiful, an inspiration to us all: always positive, never complaining, working through the night to make sure the parties were the best they could be for you and us. We are all so devastated to lose him like this. Everything we do from now on is for you, our brother."
