This Dutch DJ Legend Performed One of the Worst Scratch Routines Ever on Live TV

We still love you anyways, DJ Jean.

If you went out clubbing in the early 90s you probably remember DJ Jean's hard house anthem "The Launch," which made it all the way to number two in the charts in the UK. Since the track's release, the self-proclaimed "Master of the Wheels of Steel" has enjoyed some of the spoils bestowed on those who make a hard house track about a rocket ship launch: a monthly residency in Amsterdam, weekly radio show, and most recently, a guest appearance on local Dtuch TV show, RTLNL. The spot on the show was intended to promote Jean's new DJ self-help book Start from Scratch.

DJ Jean was supposed to perform a short CDJ-based scratch routine for the show's two hosts, in front of a fake fireplace and Christmas tree. For someone who's been DJing for two decades, you would think this would be routine for Jean, but sadly, the Dutchman delivered one of the worst one-minute DJ sets in both the history of DJing, and time itself. Watch a clip below of Jean fumbling his way through the set, recorded by Dutch comedian and television personality, Arjen Lubach.

Shorty after the video clip began getting widely circulated on the web, Jean took it upon himself to perform another follow up set intended as rebuttal of sorts against the haters, along with the caption: "RESPECT THE SKILLZ 2016!!" (sic). We'll leave to you to decide if it's actually better than whatever happened on RTL. We still love you Jean, one way or another.
