For the first time in Electric Forest history, campers who identify as women are invited to participate in The Women's Group Camp—a strictly female campground for women who are traveling solo, or wishing to experience the four-day event as part of an all-girl community. The site will be hosted by Edith Johnson, a seasoned festival-goer and founder of The Festival Girl, a website that documents her experiences at music festivals across North America.

"She'll be there to help women set up camp and come up with fun activities," says Darcy Schneider, a director at the festival's production company, Madison House Presents. "She'll have a group going to yoga, they'll meet for coffee—she'll help women experience the best of what the festival has to offer."

The Women's Group Camp is the first confirmed initiative of Her Forest, a new project that aims to foster connection, inspiration, and comfort amongst Electric Forest's female guests.

"What Her Forest becomes will ultimately be determined by the community itself," festival founder Jeremy Stein explained in an email to THUMP. "Her Forest is off to a great start and we are excited to see how it evolves."

Electric Forest is a four-day music and arts festival held annually in Rothbury, Michigan. Performers this year include Major Lazer, Baauer, Flosstradamus, Tchami, and more. Tickets to this year's festival, which takes place between June 23-26, 2016, are now sold out.

Ticket holders of this year's Electric Forest can sign up for The Women's Group Camp here. Registration begins on February 18, 2016.
