Exclusive: Listen to Feadz's Debut LP, "Instant Alpha"

Stream the debut LP from Ed Banger's electro don in full.

As a record label, one of the most enviable positions you can command is not just to release great records and throw great parties, but define a Moment. There's tapping into a trend and rinsing it for all it's worth, and there's there's creating one, and French label Ed Banger Records are one of best at this. Headed by Pedro "Busy P" Winters, Ed Banger captured a crossover moment between a generation of young clubbers who were picking at the leftovers of electroclash, and enamoured with the various mutations of hip hop, electro, techno and house that were being called "wonky", "glitchy"; hackneyed terms, sure, but these sounds were searching for a playfulness that Ed Banger embraced in full.

Feadz's sound has come to be synonymous with Ed Banger. Though perhaps more widely know for his production work for (read: moulding of) zeitgeist darling Uffie, Feadz has spent fifteen years in the game making some of the most fun electronic music in Europe, and with a technical finesse and encyclopaedic knowledge of house and techno that shouldn't be underestimated. It's crazy to think that "Instant Alpha" is his debut album - after fifteen, packed years.

As he himself says, the album is "a response to a format where techno doesn't have a place. It's a mix and a concept around DJing. There's no need to press fast-forward to find the essence of a track, because I've already reduced each number to its essential emotion." Having been signed to Ed Banger since 2006 it's no surprise to learn that "Instant Alpha" encapsulates the light-hearted hedonism of the labels sound, and it's a joy to finally hear it.

You can stream Feadz - "Instant Alpha" exclusively on THUMP in full below, and grab it on January 20th via Ed Banger/Because Music.
