TGAF affiliate Detente today shared his tumultuous new EP Basic Dwell, presented as one continuous 16-minute mix exploring a series of demented moods. The release follows recent collaborations with Astral Plane affiliate nunu and Planet Mu signees WWWINGS, and combines video game sound effects with rapidly igniting beats, ominous melodies, and disaffected field recordings.

The Parisian producer told THUMP about its backstory over email. "I've gathered Basic Dwell's pieces on a track in an attempt to piece together fragments of a broken story," he said. "Like a first person shooter, or a half-burnt book. A picture of everyday life or a tragic adventure; building a Crannog in medieval Scotland or a struggle for survival in a post-apocalyptic world."

French imprint Permalnk will release Basic Dwell tomorrow, June 1.

1. Prologue
2. En route (Part 1)
3. Untitled
4. Basic Dwell Time
