I Actually Get Paid to Party Until 6AM

My life rules. Here are some photos I also got paid to take.

A week in the life of a party photographer

On my flight of shame home from Miami—having been awake for two days, hair dripping, smelling like chlorine from a 6AM dip in the Standard Hotel pool, done watching Skrillex and A-Trak getting lap dances at Hard to Leave—I realized how insane it is that I actually get paid to party…. until 6AM. Tuesday through Friday. To celebrate my awesome life, I have put together a collection of all the weirdos and friends that I ran into throughout Miami Music Week.

This is Curses and Chris of DKDS mean muggin' on Miami Beach. They're the finest DJs on New York City's underground circuit, meaning they don't spend too much time out in the sun.

Here's Lauren Flax, another nightcrawler peeking out into the sun, still dressed in all black. She's one of my favorite female DJs of all time.

This is Cut Copy's future manager Kelley Frank being fun and sexy and dancing in the street.

On the right is Callender. He manages some of my favorite artists, like Baauer. He's high-larious and really fun to flirt with ;) I'm not sure who the other guy is, but I think he tours with Skrillex.

YES! On the left is the devastatingly handsome Sam at the Hard Party at Grand Central. He's always laughing. I have no idea who the guy in the middle is, but on the right is Ian from Gladiator. I could not be prouder of all that they have done!

Dan from Gladiator is on the right spinning the green room at the Hard party and showing me the love! These guys live in LA so I very rarely get to see them. They are some of the closest homies.

This is Mika aka Son Of Kick. Bassnectar has an awesome remix of one of his songs, which he played all tour long. Mika also named a song after me and used my tit sticker for the cover.

JULIO! He's half of GTA. I first met him playing in the Fools Gold tent at Camp Bisco. I knew then that his sick beats would be heard around the world a dozen times over. I'm not really sure when or where this photo was taken. All I do know is that at one point I humped his leg and ran away.

I ran into DJ Craze, the owner of Slow Roast Records, at the Congress Hotel roof party. He's the best turntablist to ever play live. If you don't believe me just watch this video.

This is Chris. He tour manages everyone from Zeds Dead to Dillion Francis. Once you break through all his business persona he's a shit ton of fun! This photo was taken backstage at some random club.

I happened upon Jubillee at David's Cuban diner at lunchtime. She's effortlessly pulling off the jungle pattern / Nike flip-flop combo—not an easy move.

I found Paper Diamond on the street. He doesn't need a blurb to explain his awesomeness, but one fun fact: he introduced me to my favorite new cocktail, which consists of tequila and ginger beer.

This is A-Trak slaying the Fools Gold party at Grand Central. He's one of the few DJs who puts on a drastically different show every time I see him live.

I ran into Curt from Flosstradamus backstage at the Fools Gold Party. He is probably the most rad person I've ever met—he's always dancing, always into the vibe of the party.

I had to add this photo of Ian from Gladiator at the Fools Gold party.

This is Ben Geffin from Jack Beats at Fools Gold. I'm a huge fangirl for this dude.

Trini Chris, oh Trini Chris. I love this guy!

DJ Craze spinning Fools Gold Party like WHOA!!!!

I ran into DJ Wonder at Jillionaire's Chicken and Beer Party at the dream hotel. He's a hip-hop radio legend in New York City.

These photographers are so serious!

TURN DOWN FOR WHAT, EXACTLY?

I've shot these two weirdos often, but there was no spectacle more insane than Diplo and Jillionaire playing the Chicken and Beer party at Miami Music Week. Major Lazer with like 150 people? Yes, please!

Diplo actually makes girls turn into crazy people.

This is one of my favorite photos from the week. It's Jillionaire and Bassnectar's tour manager Gnarlos trying to push Chris into the Dream Hotel pool. They were unsuccessful.

Michal Menert is the biggest sweetheart in the industry! He just dropped his new video too. Also, look at that mop.

Gramatik and Gibbs share a private moment after playing Mekka and right before jumping on the bus to head out on tour.

This is Nick Hook in the Serato house with his giraffe friend.
