Flying Lotus Wants People to “Stop Making Art in the Name of Trump”

The eclectic producer and director shared his views on Twitter.

Many creators have responded to the presidency of Donald Trump with benefits, fundraisers, visual art and new music. But Flying Lotus likely won't be one of them.

In a series of tweets posted late last night, the producer shared his frustration with artists making art in the name of Trump. "He's not worth your skill and efforts," he tweeted.

Later, the producer engaged in a conversation with comedian Freddy Scott about the matter. While Scott argued parody "helps make [his presidency] sting less," FlyLo argued that some artists also use Trump's name because it leads to, "views and likes." Their interest in him is not for protest. "That shit also contributed to getting him elected," he wrote.
