jozif's New Tune "Waikiki" is Shrouded in Tropical Mystery

We've got our private investigator hat on for this one.

The London producer and DJ, jozif, is a bit of a mysterious dude. We've got the A-side cut off his brand spankin' new EP for Culprit Waikiki, but when we asked him about the etymology behind the release we things got a little hazy. If you know anything about geography or surfing you'll know that Waikiki is one of the most beloved beachfronts neighborhood in all of Hawaii, but it appears to also hold a special place in the producer's own heart. "I was there this time last year and had a very special personal experience that not only influenced this record, but had a massive impact on my life in general." We tried to nudge him for more deets about what went down on the beach but sadly came up short, and were instead left with this awesome tropi-tech tune.

We thought maybe Waikiki's translation of "sprouting fresh water," might have had something to do with: "Each track on the EP has a part to play; some parts are trippy, some melancholy, and some just sunshine music. It was that trip to Waikiki and the following few weeks that basically shaped this EP into what it is now." Sometimes you need to know when to quit, so we won't try to pry into what really went down over that weekend for jozif, but instead will just do the hula for the rest of the day.
