Move over Big-Mouth Billy Bass, there's a new bass in town! This month, top DJ and frozen yogurt afficionado AC Slater starts a new party at LA nightclub Sound devoted to "Night Bass." Slater has coined the term "night bass" to describe the new sounds of bassline-driven house coming from UK labels like Black Butter and Four 40 and homegrown outfits like Dirtybird, Trouble & Bass, and Slater's own Party Like Us Records.To celebrate the launch of the party, Slates has given us this bananas mix that will get your day started better than a strong coffee and a slap in the face. We'll be rolling out a mix here on THUMP every month to better acquaint you with the new hour sound being offered up by acts like Gorgon City, Jay Robinson, DJ Q, Hannah Wants, and more.If you're in LA, check out the party, which kicks off January 30 with Dirtybird's Christian Martin, plus Astronomar, Petey Clicks, Sleazemore, and Mr. Slater himself.
