Los Angeles-via-NYC artist
MANIK and Denver's
option4 both really love music that rocks the club. As individual acts, they rep their two scenes aptly. MANIK brings club-focused productions to labels like LA-based Culprit and Ellen Aillien's B-Pitch Control, while option4 proudly flies Denver's flag by throwing the best house and techno nights in the city and releasing his own
grooving solo tracks. But now, the two friends have teamed up to celebrate their love for body-heaving beats (and
NBA Jam, according to an interview with
Dancing Astronaut) for a collaborative project called 909 Till Infinity. They're kicking off the whole shebang with a debut EP on Treasure Fingers' Psycho Disco label (released tomorrow), and we have the squelchy acid-infused A-side of the release, "Don't Clock Me Out," for your listening pleasure.
"We're trying to make music with an edge to it, so don't cut yourself," option4, real name Brennen Bryarly, jokes to THUMP over email. He continues: "But in reality we're just making stuff for people to have fun to and not take too seriously. Life is only fun if you're living." Sound about right? Dive in below.
