Los Angeles beatmaker Kingdom, a.k.a. Ezra Rubin, shared an intimate new video today for his machinic R&B track "Breathless." It's collaboration with NYC-via-Florida vocalist Shacar, who stars in the video, putting his background in musical theater to good use.The clip conveys a scene of stressful self-examination, complementing the lyrics about a rollercoaster romance with someone who used to be just a friend. Shacar appears amidst foliage lit by soft pink and blue lights in one scene, and encircled by mirrors in another; Rubin's subtly rave-influenced beat, meanwhile, creates a mood of electric anticipation."Breathless" is off Rubin's debut LP Tears in the Club, released on his own Fade to Mind imprint in February.
