Kingdom and Shacar Share a Mercurial Video For "Breathless"

The track is off the Fade to Mind boss' debut album 'Tears in the Club,' released in February.

Los Angeles beatmaker Kingdom, a.k.a. Ezra Rubin, shared an intimate new video today for his machinic R&B track "Breathless." It's collaboration with NYC-via-Florida vocalist Shacar, who stars in the video, putting his background in musical theater to good use.

The clip conveys a scene of stressful self-examination, complementing the lyrics about a rollercoaster romance with someone who used to be just a friend. Shacar appears amidst foliage lit by soft pink and blue lights in one scene, and encircled by mirrors in another; Rubin's subtly rave-influenced beat, meanwhile, creates a mood of electric anticipation.

"Breathless" is off Rubin's debut LP Tears in the Club, released on his own Fade to Mind imprint in February. The record also features collaborations with SZA, The Internet's Syd, and Najee Daniels.
