Irish producer Dara Smith, of tempestuous techno duo Lakker, has announced his debut solo album as Arad, entitled Particles and Waves. Like his debut solo EP Haon last year, the record will be released on Rotterdam/Berlin-based producer Speedy J's label Electric Deluxe.

As evidenced by the snippets of the record uploaded to SoundCloud, streaming below, the LP finds Smith working in the realm of 90s-indebted, stonefaced techno experimentation, as bleak as it is quietly expressive. When not making music, Smith is a motion graphics designer, and the press release for the record explains that it is marks an attempt to synthesize the audio and visual aspects of his practice; fittingly, he designed the album art for Particles and Waves.

Preorder it here ahead of its March 28 release date, and hear a mix Smith made for the label a couple weeks ago here.
