Fresh from delivering a surprise return from a five-year hiatus in the form of seasonal tune "Christmas Will Break Your Heart", LCD Soundsystem are set to carry their return from a seemingly permanent breakup onto a Coachella headline slot in 2016, according to New York Times.

The shows would mark the first live activity from the indie-dance luminaries since a series of farewell concerts at Madison Square Garden in 2011, captured in the film Shut Up and Play The Hits. Band progenitor James Murphy has since worked away from the spotlight, gaining production credits on Arcade Fire's Reflektor and opening his own wine bar in Williamsburg.

Reports indicate LCD Soundsystem will be joining a Guns N' Roses lineup featuring a reunited Axl Rose and Slash at Coachella. There has been no official confirmation from the LCD Soundsystem camp as of yet.
