Le Youth Takes The Knocks from Funk-tastic to House-gasmic

Le Youth has been blowing up recently with H&M commercials and festival sets – his track "C O O L" even got some of that record-of-the-week swag from BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw last year. The Knocks are working a similar deal: Corona commercials, main stage festival sets with Skrillex, Deadmau5, the works. So when they came together on Le Youth's remix of The Knocks ft. Powers' "Classic," we figured the good times were about to roll. And we weren't wrong.

The fast-paced house re-imagination by Le Youth scraps the funky bassline from the original track for a more melodic deep house-y synth progression (a la Oliver Heldens) and pushes the tempo up. The remix leaves no room for dead space and little opportunity to forget the upbeat chorus melodies amidst its new house groove.

What's dope is that both Le Youth and The Knocks, artists on a quick come-up, are giving a look to up-and-coming artists. In this instance, they've passed the buck of their rocket fueled success to Powers.
