Little People's 'Csay Csay' EP Sounds Like Giving a Mic to the Mountains

The Swiss producer's richly colorful tracks evoke the feeling of wandering around a sun-dappled forest.

Say what you will about heartbreak and personal struggles as fuel for writing music. The great outdoors is a pretty good muse too. As everyone who's ever canoodled with Mother Nature knows, few things are more inspiring than just standing in a field under endless sky. Maybe that's why the music of Little People (a.k.a. Laurent Clerc)sounds so refreshing. The Swiss producer grew up amongst the Alps, and his richly colorful tracks somehow evoke the feeling of splashing arounda mountain stream or wandering around a sun-dappled forest.

Csay Csay, Clerc's most recent EP, is actually a departure from his usual sound. While he typically arranges his music around a bed of pre-recorded samples, this time Clerc turned his attention towards composition and organic instrumentation. The result is a warm tapestry woven from ribbons of piano chords, synths, and live drumming. It should come as no surprise that Clerc is touring with ODESZA. Listen to the EP above, and don't miss Little People's live show if he's rolling through your town this March.
