Look Out for The PartyDrone at Your Next Festival

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's the....

Belgian operator BASE has teamed up with Spotify in a striking new approach to the advent of drone-based-marketing.  Scrapping the popular quadcopter paradigm for a new "hexacopter" design, BASE has created a drone that's outfitted with a lightweight carbon case containing an amp, three speakers rocking 450 watts, and an LED lightshow that flies overhead synced to your own music.

While it's not thoroughly explained in the video just how it tracks people, let alone plays their music - the gist is: When first buying tickets to festivals users are prompted to select a favorite song for the PartyDrone's Spotify playlist. Once you arrive to the ticket booth, the PartyDrone will fly over and greet ya' with the song you selected. (Currently it seems like the playlist is exclusive to the likes of Benny Benassi, Fatboy Slim and Swedish House Mafia).

It's up in the air whether or not the drone will riddle you with a scud missile from space for selecting an artist other than Benassi or Swedish House Mafia—but word has it deep house will be available in the coming weeks.

Peep the video of the Party Drone in action above and keep an eye out for this flying discoball at your next rave event! No you're not tripping, this shit is actually real.

P.S— We want to party with this guy from the video, hit us up dude.
