Magnetic Fields, an arts and electronic music festival in India, is the kind of event where the location—a 17th century palace-turned-hotel called the Alsisar Mahal—could be a headliner in itself. Come December 18-20, 2015, the two-year-old event will invite headliners like Ratatat (making their first-ever festival appearance in India) and many other dance music luminaries to their palatial headquarters in the middle of a village in North Rajasthan.

Even better, THUMP is joining in the action with a secret party (co-presented by Border Movement) that will showcase Pakistani and Indian talent for the first time. We'll be pitting two local dance music collectives, Forever South and Consolidate, against each other in a friendly competition. Forever South (FXS), a collective based in Karachi, Pakistan, will be repped by co-founder Rudoh and Islamabad-based producer TMPST. They'll go head-to-head against Consolidate, a Bangalore-based collective known for their online mix series, that will be represented by founder _RHL, , one half of Sulk Station.

Magnetic Fields will also feature a spread of local and international acts on the Red Bull Music Academy North Stage—including the legendary DJ Koze, grime innovator Mumdance, Dutch selectors Hunee and Antal, Berlin breakout Palms Trax, Brainfeeder's Kutmah, Mumbai-based synthpop whiz Aqua Dominatrix, and techno luminary Objekt, amongst others.

The Heineken Desert Disco stage will focus on musical styles ranging from reggae to disco and dub—with Dubai-based 264 Cru kicking off with an all-vinyl afrobeat, jazz, funk, and hip-hop showcase, followed by French producer M. Mat, Malaysian outfit Detour Asia Dub Station, and Delhi Sultanate (BFR).

Other acts on the chock-full lineup include Michigan beatking Shigeto, British dancehall producer Palmistry, Mumbai acoustic-electronic act Donn Bhat + Passenger Revelator, funk duo Soul Clap, and Malaysian electronic soul duo Bass Sekolah. There will also be a special showcase by India's top audio-visual act BLOT. Get your tickets here.
