Founded in 2015 by Angelenos (and former UCLA classmates) Kate Stimac and Tahl Klainman, Fine Time takes place in a variety of offbeat rooms and DIY spaces that work both your psyche and dancing feet—an ethos that translates directly in their eclectic programming. Since their inception in Los Angeles, DJs like Robert Hood, UNiiQU3, and Lotic, as well as live acts like Aurora Halal, Archie Pelago, and dreamy-disco duo Teengirl Fantasy have all graced their roaming dancefloor.

Being fans of their knack for clever and creative bookings, we hit up Kate and Tahl to put together an Apple Music playlist, which is streaming below, that showcases the vibe of both their party and hometown at large. With tracks from LA locals like Suzanne Kraft, John Tejada, Ariel Pink, and Chromatics—it will take you straight inside a weird and hazy night out in the City of Angels.

"Much has been written about LA's beat-music scene and the commercial-dance stalwarts born of Hollywood nightclubs and rooftop pool-parties, Fine Time said. "We wanted to focus on a crop of young and talented producers making the sort of left-field electronic and experimental techno we look to book as promoters. It just so happens it's also great playlist for discovering the city by car as you discover some of our local favorites."
