Dance Yourself Clean in Xinobi’s Dreamy Video for “Far Away Place”

A deserted island provides a serene setting for spiritual rebirth.

"Dance like no one's watching": That's pretty easy to do when you have an entire deserted island to yourself.

That's the premise of Portuguese producer Xinobi's dreamy new video for his single, "Far Away Place." The song combines melancholic deep house and soothing water sounds with the sweet, airy vocals courtesy of Margarida Falcão from indie-pop trio Vaarwell. Described by the producer as a place to "celebrate life, where love is key," the island setting of the video provides a place for freedom and spiritual rebirth, as the female lead dances herself clean among the waves and on the sandy shores.

Over email, Xinobi gave THUMP some background on the visual: "The video was shot at Troia in the Setubal district in Portugal. Troia is known for its beautiful beaches and the rich aquaculture—you can even spot dolphins there. The place is a metaphor, a location where people have the freedom and the will to act independently and autonomously. The film is played by a girl who wakes up on a deserted island and dances to expel her demons."
