Ahead of the release of their "Future Sound" nighttime music line up, Moogfest has listed a variety of new exciting updates in their weekly newsletter. Each week, THUMP will be featuring takeaways from the weekly "briefing" via exclusive news posts in the coming months until the festivals kicks off May 18-21 in Durham, North Carolina.

First up, the festival is revealing a brand new series dubbed Prelude to Sleep. Featured in the form of "nightly cosmic listening parties," the series will combine ambient recordings with projected visuals, guided by the likes of Laurie Spiegel, Driftless Recordings, and the RVNG Intl. label. Additionally, they're unveiling another program called Innovators in Instrument Design, where pivotal instrument design figures like Midi pioneer Dave Smith, Ableton co-founder Gerhard Behles, and synth designers Dave Rossum and Lars Larsen will be honored.

To top it all off with their weekly music-focused exclusive, the festival has recruited NYC artist Suzi Analogue to curate their first Synthesize Love Playlist (click the link to listen), an ongoing project where artists will be showcasing their own relationship with synthesizers via a mix or collection of tracks. Check out that in the Spotify embed below, and keep your eyes on this for upcoming Moogfest news updates and exclusives.
