Music and tech conferences SXSW and Moogfest have joined forces for an event at this year's SXSW gathering in Austin, Texas. It will take place at Cheer-Up Charlies on March 13.

The event, called Synthesize Love with Moogfest, will see the North Carolina-based festival bring cross-country its Future Thought and Future Sound experiences through panels and performances exploring themes of diversity and inclusion. The Future Thought daytime program will feature a discussion, "Our Diverse Future: Optimism Alongside Discrimination, from NC to TX," with thought-leaders across various disciplines.

The nighttime program, Future Sound, will feature performances from electronic artists Professor Room, Madame Gandhi, Suzanne Ciani, Ellie Herring, Russel E.L. Butler, and Pharmakon.

Last month, Moogfest announced it will host a special "Protest Stage" at this year's festival (May 18-21) as a response to discriminatory policies including the recent travel ban and North Carolina's own House Bill 2, a.k.a. the "bathroom bill."
