Residents living inside of Salt Lick, a DIY warehouse space in Oakland, are being evicted, according to reports from ABC 7 News.

Three people currently live within the space, according to reports, and the eviction notices were handed down by the warehouse owner.

A fire in the Ghost Ship warehouse space last December caused 36 fatalities. Since the fire, Salt Lick was among a dozen properties identified by the city of Oakland as possibly unsafe for living in February. A fire escape on the second floor reportedly only reaches to the end of the roof.

"We stand ready to work with the landlord to make sure tenants can remain," Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf told ABC 7. "And remain under safe conditions."

In January, Schaaf issued an order to protect Oakland's DIY tenants.
