Say Hello to Soul Clap Records' Newest Shining Star, David Marston

The Jamaican producer's EP standout "I Don't Want" is the one track you DO want to listen to today.

Say hello to David Marston. This young impressive Jamaican producer is responsible for one of Soul Clap Records' staple tracks at the moment, a shimmering, soul-invading deep-house jam entitled "I Don't Want," which is to be released on David's debut EP, aptly titiled The Jamaicalia.

"I first emailed Eli and Charlie about 3 years ago while I was a senior at university," Marston said on linking with Soul Clap. "At that time, they had not as yet started their label but I sent them some remixes and original tracks that I had been working on. They responded positively to the music and told me to continue sending them stuff. I got a good vibe from Eli and Charlie from the start."

"I Don't Want" packs a danceable groove but it's also the type of cut you can simply live to, which is exactly what David had in mind. "I can envision people listening to my music in cafes such as the one that I frequent in Philadelphia called La Colombe Torrefaction," he said.
I actually think that the music is well-suited to more intimate settings where people can sit back and process the music in a way that they may not get the chance to do in a club environment."

Keep your eye on David Marston. He may even responsible for soundtracking the birth of your first child. Just don't hold him accountable…
