India's Electronic Music Scene is Off the Chain

In a new film we meet several important characters from the scene.

The dance music scene in India has exploded over the last few years; and not just because it's become a key stop on the international touring circuit. The country is jam-packed with homegrown talent, DJs who have been putting in work, and producers who deserve their time to shine.

In a new film we meet several important characters from the scene.

Arjun Vagale, who, not content with just being a pioneering techno DJ and producer, has set up two companies to solidify India's electronic scene. The first is an academy - created with his brother - called ILM which aims to teach young people how to DJ and make their own music. The second is Unmute, a management company that he runs with his business partner Dev Bhatia.

Nucleya, although musically different, shares Arjun's passion for bringing the Indian electronic music scenes from various towns together. His ecstatic mix of traditional Indian sounds with cutting edge global bass music has really struck a chord with the country's youth. We capture him headlining one of New Delhi's legendary outdoor farmhouse raves.

Kris Correya is from Mumbai and has seen the scene develop from almost nothing to where it is today. As Kris is not just a DJ and producer, but has been a promoter for many years, he is uniquely placed to give an insight into the recent surge.
