A new 4000-person capacity club called Scru will open next month in Birmingham, UK, in a former 19th century screw factory. It will hold its opening night on March 17 with a program featuring grime artists Casisdead, Jammz, and Oil Gang.

Scru will host a recurring program called "Continuum presents" on Friday nights focusing on bass-centric dance styles, while "Scru presents" will take place on Saturday nights and focus on techno and house. Mumdance, Magda, Bok Bok, Soul Clap, Shed, and 808 State are among the artists it already has booked to play over the next few months.

When Scru first opens it will be a 1000-capacity space with two rooms, but it will then expand in April to be able to host 1,500 people. The full rollout will take place in July, when Scru plans to introduce an outdoor terrace and be able to host 4000 patrons, making it one of the biggest clubs in the UK.

Void Acoustics have designed an exclusive sound system for Scru, featuring VOID Q and XL 21 subwoofers.
