Smoko Ono's Jazzy Remix of Aaliyah's "One in a Million" is Pure Fire

The Chicago producer brings the quintessential R&B track into jazzy, experimental hip-hop territory.

It takes balls to swing your hatchet at the Queen. Good thing Smoko Ono has a full pair. Flexing his remix chops on Aaliyah's "One In A Million," the Chicago producer brings the quintessential R&B track into jazzy, experimental hip-hop territory. The result is an ingeniously fresh transformation that sounds like crossing a 90s diva with Floating Points and throwing in a bunch of confetti. You might know Smoko Ono as the producer of Vic Mensa's single "Feel That" (he's also been a member of Mensa's touring band). His next project will feature a host of left-field hip-hop producers including Mensa, Dram, Chance the Rapper, and Jarred AG. Keep your eye on this guy.
