Brooklyn's Super Tuff Records makes rough n' ready music for tender hearts. If you like your gritty house flavored with the kind of soul that hits you deep, keep on reading. Inspired by the wonky style of much-loved labels like Studio Barnhus and Smallville, the local label—who recently started a monthly event at New York party hole Bossa Nova Civic Club—is releasing their debut EP of moody house music in June. Luckily for you all on this sunny Friday, we've got a sneak peak of Super Tuff's vibe with the record's lead track, produced by label-head M. Vaughan. While he didn't give away much about the track entitled "Reel Recognize Reel," Mr. Vaughan did tell us that he was going for a "sort of Mr. G meets High Head meets Jazz sampled on old wonky equipment vibe." With the rest of the record filled with like-minded tunes from deep house luminary DJ Aakmael, Moony Me, and Jesse Bru, we're straight up sold. Check it out below.
