Whether it's for playing out at a club or listening at home, DJs and producers typically have an encyclopedic hoard of music, new and old. In The Last Record, they tell us about the last three songs or albums they've purchased, and why these were important additions to their music collection.

This week, we spoke to Robert Dietz. The Berlin-based producer, DJ and boss of label Truth Be Told shared some of his most recent finds, including a record that he might love because of who he loves.

Fantastic Man - "Trance Sexual"

A friend of mine gave me the hint to check out this Australian label (Superconscious Records) on their Bandcamp page. I straight away was hooked with their music, especially this track, which is by one of the founders of the label. It's a trippy, groovy, acid beast, which is pure bliss for the early hours.

Donna Trump - Donna Trump

This one I found at one of my favorite record stores here in Berlin called Oye. In my opinion, it's exactly the record every DJ wants and needs. It comes with six jacking, old-school jams you can easily fit into your sets to pleasure yourself and the dance floor. It's full of chunky, raw house with no unnecessary gimmicks.

Hi Mount & C.K - "I Know" (First Mix)

I've recently begun dating this girl who I think wanted to impress me a little with her taste in music when she told me about this small record label from Denmark and their most recent release that she likes so much. When I gave it a first listen, I thought, "Yeah, cheesy house." But then it totally grew on me. I think it was the 90s r&b vibe and the cheeky vocal sample that got me somehow … or maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic.
