Nick Hook and Nadus Will Kick Off THUMP's New Summer Live Stream Series, Sunsets, Today at 7PM EST

Our first episode, in partnership with Serato, will stream on Facebook Live and YouTube later this evening.

Music rarely sounds better than when paired with a cool breeze in the air and the blissful gradients created as the sun slowly dips behind the horizon. On Thursday, July 14, THUMP is partnering with Serato for the debut episode of Sunsets, our new weekly live stream series celebrating that fact. New York's Nick Hook and Jersey club DJ Nadus are kick it all off at 7 pm EST, with 90 minutes of back-to-back magic on THUMP's Facebook and YouTube. And all summer long, we'll be bringing you intimate DJ sets from some of our favorite players in electronic music—broadcast right from the rooftop of VICE's Brooklyn office, which overlooks the Manhattan skyline.

When we spoke to Hook on the phone, he gave us a few hints of what to expect. "I booked Nadus for one of his first gigs ever in New York for my old party," Hook said. "Nadus was like 18, and we snuck him in the club. I've kept tabs on him and his career. Me, him, and Sliink did a song with Bodega Bamz on my last EP—that was the first time we collabed. We've been catching great energy in the studio together ever since. We've been in the game for a while but there's so much room for us to keep going."

In addition to a 16-song solo record he has coming out on Fool's Gold in late September or early October, Hook says he and Nadus have some exciting collaborations in the works. "We've been talking to Remy Banks and other rappers, and DJ Earl is gonna start collaborating with us too soon." He also says to look out for a few surprises when you listen in to the live stream this week. "Think we have like three songs that we might debut as exclusives on Thursday."

Right before they throw down, both Hook and Nadus will be doing a live interview on Facebook, at 6:30 pm. The Q&A will be hosted by THUMP's own Chantel Simpson, but fans are encouraged to add their burning questions for the artists in the comments section of the Facebook Live stream. You can tune in to Sunsets there or on YouTube, but in case you can't make it, we'll be archiving all the sets on Mixcloud. Stay tuned for weekly announcements of Sunsets performers.
