Tomorrowland In Brazil Is Gonna Be Huge

The rumours were true! Tomorrowland, one of the world's largest EDM festivals, is coming to Brazil. The announcement was made by David Guetta himself, just after playing his own set at the festival, currently under way in Belgium, which has played host to Tomorrowland for the last ten years. Under fireworks, a huge crowd gathered on Sunday to dance to the French DJ's set, which was streamed live on a huge screen in São Paulo's Villa Lobos Park.

Tomorroland 2015 will be held in early May  in Fazenda Maeda, Itu, 102km from São Paulo. Three days, six stages and a camping ground, with initial ticket prices ranging from R$299 (day pass) to R$ 699. Sales start on September 6th, but you can already sign up for pre-sale on the event's official website, tomorrowlandbrasil.com.

And the party in São Paulo this Sunday gave us a good feeling of how awesome it will be. Ten thousand people (not to mention those who couldn't get in) braved the cold to watch David Guetta and Steve Aoki play live from Belgium, while local heavyweight DJ Marky showed up to heat it up in person.

I caught up with the event's Brazilian organizers Mauricio Soares, Marketing VP at ID&T, and Luiz Eurico Klotz, director at Plus Talent,  who told me the Brazil was chosen for the first Tomorrowland in Latin America because of how engaged the Brazilian public has been with the festival over the years, being the loudest fans on social networks. The only international edition of the festival so far was last year, in Atlanta.

The Maeda Farm, which previously hosted festivals such as SWU and Tribe, was chosen due to ease of access and, of course, its size. In fact, the whole area used for the  three stages, camping and eateries at the SWU rock festival this time will be used only for the camping area. They expect to host 60 thousand people over the three days of the festival.
