Twin Peaks fans can rejoice!

Angelo Badalamenti, the Grammy Award-winning composer of the original Twin Peaks television show, will return as composer for the new original series set to debut in 2017 on Showtime. In anticipation of his return, Showtime released a teaser trailer featuring Badalamenti playing on a piano.

"I could not be more thrilled to be back," the composer wrote on his Twitter.

I could not be more thrilled to be back. Much love, my brother. — Angelo Badalamenti (@DamnGoodPie)September 30, 2016

Badalamenti's original score for the series, Soundtrack Album from Twin Peaks, became popular upon its original release, eventually acquiring gold status in 25 countries. Since the original series' end, Badalamenti and Twin Peaks creator David Lynch have collaborated on other projects including Lynch's films Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive.

Earlier this year, the show's official Facebook page announced Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira and Chromatics' Ruth Radelet as some of the musicians working in the new series. Their exact roles on the project have not been announced.
