Over the course of the past year, AC Slater has been bringing the sound of bassline garage to American shores with both his Party Like Us label and Night Bass series of events. Everyone from Shift K3y to Chris Lorenzo to Hannah Wants have taken the long flight over to party with the likes of Slater and Jack Beats. So when Slater says he's unearthed another UK talent, it's probably a good idea to take note. Enter Glaswegian producer Nativ."I had been playing a couple Nativ tunes in 2013 and we started talking online a little," says Slater. "His style is so edgy and dark, but still aimed for the dancefloor. After a while, I decided we should bring his sound onto a Party Like Us release, that dark UK funky underground sound that's still bubbling amongst a circle of producers over there."We've got the title track from Nativ's Brukout EP. By now, you should know the style: 4x4 kicks laid under scythe-like bassline whomps and pitter-patter hi-hats punctuating it all. Nativ explains: "Every tune was made with the label roughly in mind, I think every artist does that to an extent but I tried to keep my own style running through out.
