The formidable Spanish dance party, elrow, is bringing their high-octane theatrics stateside this year. The troop will be curating a stage at Electric Zoo, bringing top-class talent including Jackmaster, Bicep, and Eats Everything to the festival on Randall's Island this Labor Day Weekend.

This will be the first full US production of the prolific Barcelona-based and globetrotting party. Elrow has origins at a 50-year-old club of the same name in Barcelona, and has built a reputation for itself combining dance music with fantastic themes that include lush set design, costumed characters, choreographed dances, and theatrical scenarios.

In keeping with Electric Zoo's "Wild Island" theme this year, elrow will turn its stage into a Brazilian carnivaleque showcase, but the elrow team are keeping the details hidden: "You are going to have to wait and see!" elrow CEO Juan Arnau Jr. told THUMP by email. "Our theme will be the Brazilian Sambodromo, which perfectly fits the festival's [main] theme. We will bring crazy characters, all blending together in what's going to be the most insane jungle you have ever experienced… But is best if you discover it for yourself at the festival!"

Elrow doesn't just crank the theatrics to 11, but is also curating an amazing line-up of producers that include UK minimal house act Bicep, brawny beatmaker Eats Everything, acclaimed DJs Patrick Topping and Jackmaster, and a new talent behind the decks, De La Swing. "He's a newcomer to the American scene," writes Arnau, "but De La Swing is widely recognized in Spain and Europe. He's one of our original residents, part of the DNA of elrow. Our resident DJs are a pivotal part of the party, most of them have been with us since the beginning and they perfectly understand the party, the vibe…sometimes even better than guests!"

Arnau continued: "Our home and where all this craziness started was obviously in Barcelona," Elrow CEO Juan Arnau Jr told THUMP by email. "One of the challenges we face everywhere we go is recreating what we do at home. The shows don't differ, and I think that's the magic of it.So, the only difference between a show here in Barcelona, London or eZoo is the location, but every location has its own charm and that's what we try and exploit every time we travel somewhere different."

Electric Zoo will take place over Labor Day Weekend (September 2-4 2016), with the elrow event happening on September 3. Tickets and more information available here.
