Australia's UV boi فوق بنفسجي Previews a Hopeful Future In Latest Mix

The Ryan Hemsworth-approved producer drops a dose of unreleased tracks and edits in this exclusive mix that's dedicated to keeping it real.

Following the release of L-UV ; the artist's mid-march debut EP that offered eight tracks of weightless, hip-hop infused productions on Melbourne's Valve Sounds, Australia's UV boi فوق بنفسجي (that's Arabic for "ultraviolet"), is ready to step out of the bedroom and onto the centerstage. In the young producer's exclusive mix for THUMP, entitled Strapped In the Durags, UV deftly melds together elements of hip-hop, trap, dubstep, and jungle with a dose of original tracks, demos and edits, in a genre-jumping vein similar to that of his past release. Production aside, the mix also follows a similar underlying posi-ethos to his EP, that latter of which was dedicated to finding love in our increasingly plugged-in world. "I hope for my music to show and prove to people that you can make and do what you want without being limited by what others say and or think," he tells THUMP over email.

UV's bedroom productions caught the eye of Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth, and last year the pair teamed up for their emotionally-charged instrumental track "Gods," giving UV one of his first moments in the limelight. Following a sold-out club tour in Australia last year, UV will return to the road this month for a string of performances around Australia in support of his new EP with support from Collarbones, Gill Bates, and Villette.
