It's time to open up the vault of magical party tales and overshare. THUMP presents War Stories, a collection of legendary stories from the ravers, DJ, and promoters who lived them.

Eli Goldstein (formerly DJ Elyte) is half of the Boston/Miami DJ duo Soul Clap, best known for bringing hedonistic house, disco, and irie vibes to the Wolf + Lamb camp, not to mention Crosstown Rebels, Culprit, and their own Soul Clap label. In the first installment of our War Stories column, Eli tells Tamara Deike how he lost his virginity in a cuddle-puddle at an all-ages rave in New Hampshire.

"I started raving when I was about 14. It was my freshman year of high school. I had a couple of friends that took me in, and that's where my love began. There was a place we used to chill called "The Pit" in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA. It was a place you would go after school to hang out, buy weed, whatever. I'd go there to wait for friends to come pick me up and take me to raves outside of Boston. Obviously I couldn't tell my parents where I was going; I'd just say I was sleeping at a friends house and then I'd jump in a car and go to a party.

Somewhere towards the end of that summer I met this girl. Her name was Loretta. White trash red flag number ONE.

It was raver love-at-first-sight. Loretta was this cool raver chick with bleach-blonde hair and tiny Bjork buns all over. Add to that, she also had the widest JNCOs I'd ever seen. (Sidenote:This was back when the wider the pant leg, the cooler you were. We would take our 42" wide JNCOs and cut up the seam to insert colorful, triangle-shaped pieces of fabric to make the bell of the leg even wider.) And of course to top off the look, she also had on the most candy I'd ever seen!

We ended up going on an adventure together… It was really fun! She gave me meth for the first time that day. White trash red flag number TWO.

The next weekend we kicked it and we went to my favorite party together, which was called Boom, at the Bahama Beach Club in Nashua, New Hampshire. Boom was an all-ages party with three rooms with different styles of music. The first time I went one room was DJ Dan and 90s US rave style music. The second room was DJ Venom, who played bootie house—I had never heard it before, and it blew my mind! I loved it. The third room was jungle, which I also fell in love with. Before that night I wanted to be a full-blown raver, but my first time at Boom was the night it all happened for me. I pretty much danced all night long, and when the party ended around 7AM and the doors opened up, the sun was out and all this light spilled in. It was magical and seriously one of the best nights of my life.

BUT… One of the worst nights of my life also happened with Loretta at Boom.

Ok, maybe not the worst, but it certainly was special. I was in a cuddle-puddle on the floor one night with Loretta. We were there with a bunch of other ravers and then we started making out in the corner of the puddle.

The next thing I know she pulls my dick out of my pants! She sits right on it and starts fucking me right there in the corner, only sort of hidden by darkness. And when it was over she was like, "Ok. Back to the party" like nothing had even happened!

And that is how I lost my virginity.

In hindsight, of course, that was really stupid. Turns out she had fucked almost everyone I knew and I'm lucky I didn't get AIDS or something. I was young and innocent and I didn't realize what was going on… And about two weeks after that, the FINAL white trash red flag: she banged my best friend.

Shout out to Boston Happy Ravers, Parker Hill Crew, my Rave Mom Emily Skeels and her brother Andrew, and of course my DJ crew: Elemental Compound!"
