Gramatik Announces Red Rocks Show and Drops New Lowtemp Compilation

This year just got so much better for all devotees of Gramatik's funky bass-driven rhythms. The Slovenian beat-wizard has announced that he will be returning to the Red Rocks amphitheater—the pinnacle of the Colorado bass culture—on May 9, for a headlining gig with support from Cherub. Comparing the breathtaking, open-aired venue to ancient amphitheaters in Rome and Pula, Gramatik says, "It's magnificent on all levels and last year's show was nothing short of fucking epic. I'm coming back to Colorado for another headlining show and we're doing everything to make it even bigger than last year!"

To whet your appetites, he's also unleashed a beast of a compilation for his Lowtemp label, packed with jams from his family of players—like Luxas (who's awesome LP we streamed last year), Russ Liquid (yeah, we like him too), and of course, the head-honcho himself.

"The idea of a compilation has been rolling around the Lowtemp offices for a while now. First it was just supposed to be a musical resumé of the past year, but then we decided to make it a little more special for our fans and also pack it with as much exclusive material as possible," he says, adding, "It's gonna get bigger and better every year."
