Stream Sau Poler's Sophomore EP 'Paradoxes of Progress'

The Spanish producer's follow up for Atomnation is a complex, tight, and a satisfying listen.

Say hello to Sau Poler, the next slice of talent to emerge out of the Atomnation label's seemingly endless reserve of eclectic productions. Living in the small town of Badalona, on the outskirts of Barcelona, this budding producer has just emerged with a sophomore release for the label, the Paradoxes Of Progress EP, a full stream of which we have today. "It's really nice to be in Badalona, in term of musical production and living—I love to mix what both cities have to offer—the chilled and relaxed vibe from Badalona and the vibrant, creative atmosphere form Barcelona," the Spaniard tells us.

Musically, the five track EP is a vibrant look into Poler's musical psyche and contains elements ranging from the melodic garage hits of "Mental Invasion" to the more sultry techno vibes of "Illusion Of Time."One can even sense the immersive-yet-minimal M.O of famed soundscapers like Four Tet and Boards of Canada, both said to be heavy influencers on the producer"Maybe it's that emotive feel that unconsciously draws my music. When i'm producing and composing—I never try to unify one song with the other—If it does happen, it's in a natural way during the process. I always try to follow my intuition when I'm at the beginning of a new song," says Poler.

It seemed destined that Sau's music has once again landed its sounds on the shores of Applescal's Atomnation, a label that's found a special knack for presenting music that's both complex as a listening experience and one applicable with most dancefloors. With Sau's impressive follow up to last year's debut for the label, A Soundless EchoParadoxes of Progress gleams with the producer's passion for complex genre sound-weaving and proves to exhibit a style that take cues from others, but is characteristically his own: "Everyone has his personal touch and when you achieve bringing your own character and flavor to the music, that's when magic happens and the whole concept gets unified."
