Los Angeles-based imprint Astral Plane Recordings shared a new bootleg pack today called NEW YR NEW US, featuring exclusive edits from Janus member KABLAM, Halcyon Veil affiliate Why Be, and a new original from APR signee LOFT. France-based producer nunu also features with a blend of two tracks from his 2016 EP Mind Body Dialogue for the label, as does English producer SHALT, who released APR's debut EP last year.

The pack is at its best when it mixes delicateness with intensity, as on Why Be's messy yet angelic contribution, as well as KABLAM's gnarled take on Beyoncé's 2011 single, "Run the World (Girls)." LOFT's track is also a highlight, which constructs a plateau of ambient chords and dismantles it with tingling glitch motions.

In November, SHALT shared his second EP for APR in Inertia; its track "Inertia" attempted to illustrate with sound the way bacteria are increasingly able to resist antibiotics.

The release is out now and available to stream in part below, and download in full via WeTransfer.

NEW YR NEW US tracklist:

1.) SKY H1 x NUNU - I THINK LOUD (WHY BE BLEND)
2.) NUNU - CORE x COG
3.) JAM CITY x M.E.S.H. - CITY HUMMINGBIRD (SHALT EDIT)
4.) BEY x NUNU - WE RUN THIS MAMAMAMAMA (KABLAM MESSUP)
5.) LOFT - A SALAAM MALE GENIE
