Pacha Closes in NYC, Reopens In Macau

Owners hope to bring Ibiza-experience to mainland China.

Pacha, the long-running New York club, is leaving New York for a new home in Macau, China.

As Billboard reports, Pacha NYC's swan song party is set for tonight with Danny Tenaglia, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Lauren Lane (no word on whether the blizzard currently affecting they city will bring the club to a premature end). Regardless, after tonight, the club will permanently shut its doors after a decades-long residence in the city.

Macau, the Chinese city across the bay from Hong Kong, is now hosting Pacha's newest incarnation, with shows already scheduled. Pacha Macau will reside within the recreational complex Studio City, which, according to it's website, "is home to Macau's first cinematically-themed integrated entertainment, retail and gaming resort."

Will Pacha be embraced by Macau as it had been in New York? The owners at least, certainly seem to think so, stating: "Pacha will bring Ibiza-style nightlife to Macau offering an exclusive lifestyle experience not currently available in Greater China."
