Crate Expectations: Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

Rossini and Ye and Whitney. The mighty TEED on the songs of his life.

Like most people, DJs and producers have specific songs tied to events throughout their lives. In Crate Expectations, we extract a playlist from their memories to tell their story. This week's subject: Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

What's the first song you ever loved?
Rossini "William Tell Overture." I used to play my dad's CD of Rossini Overtures a lot when I was young. Too young to know how to change tracks on the player though. This was the one I was always waiting for.

What are the first two songs you ever mixed together?
All I know is the first vinyl I pushed in was 808 State "Pacific State" at my sister's eighteenth birthday party. I think I was 11 or 12.

What's your worst guilty pleasure song?
I can't say I feel guilty about it, but probably Whitney Houston "I Have Nothing." I love slow epic ballads, and this is one of the best. Strangely I don't sing along, which suggests it's more about the arrangement than the song itself.

What song have you had on repeat in the past month?
All of the new Kanye record. It's a good ride.

Which track of your own do you like the most?
"Trouble." Dunno why.

Which track of your own do you hate the most?
There are a couple of remixes I did for people that I wish had never come out. Not going to tell you which ones though.

What's the last song you want to hear before the lights go on?
That's an ambiguous question.
