Following an EP from Brisbane-hailing producer Jad & The, Australian label Centre Source Records heads cross-country for its next release from Adelaide's Markos Milios, a.k.a. Hank Youngman.

Milios is more commonly known as one-half of Warren Raww, the raw-house duo who have thus far released on Natural Sciences and Piff Records. For his debut under the Youngman alias, Milios continues to explore the fringes of house with Wabi-Sabi, a four-track EP inspired by Japan. Today, THUMP is premiering one of its tracks, "Shinkansen," which is named for the high-speed railway network connecting many of the country's major cities. A deep and dubby number, "Shinkansen" powers forward with the smoothness of a well-oiled machine through sparkling chimes and an onslaught of fraying acid. It provides a lovely soundtrack for zoning out on your morning commute.

"'Shinkansen' was a song I started sometime late last year but I ended up putting it aside for reasons I can't remember," he told THUMP over email. While traveling in Tokyo, he saw the producer Shed play at local club Contact and was tempted to give the track another go. "I revisited 'Shinkansen' while running through Kyoto train station to catch the Hikari Bullet Train to Osaka. I feel that of all the tracks on the EP, this song captured my scattered mindset that I was dealing with at the time. I finished the song on the Bullet Train while a Japanese businessman ate an Unagi Bento next to me."
