Old School Meets New School in Roger 'S-Man' Sanchez's 'Call 2 Me'

The NYC and Ibiza club legend has a gritty, new dark house tune.

Roger "S-Man" Sanchez has been a leader in house music for over twenty years. Born in the Dominican Republic, Sanchez came up in New York, but has been a fixture in Ibiza for most of his career. In that time, he's given the clubby remix treatment to everyone from M People to Maroon 5, but he's undergone a bit of a renaissance recently after returning to his once signature dark house sound.

Sanchez states that the 'S-Man' moniker is reserved for his grittier, dance floor music, and his track "Call 2 Me" is a prime example of what that means. The track, written in collaboration with Nalaya and De$ignated, is a bassline tune with strong acid house vibes. When the beat kicks in, it automatically becomes 4AM, whenever it is that you hear it.

"I feel dance music has come full circle, back to where it was when I first came through," Sanchez tells THUMP. "Back to the 90's in sound and vibe. House music is thriving again and I believe it will be even bigger this time around."

S-Man is a true clubland lifer: "I love playing live in front a crowd of people and see how the music reaches them and how it makes them feel. I'm also excited by new talent coming through and inspired by them as well. This never gets old for me!"
